Manju General Store

Manju General Store is a small place located right at Pinari Chowk in Silora. I started this because I wanted something to do and to help out the people living nearby. It’s not a very big shop, but I make sure to have the things that everyone uses every day. You can find milk, bread, and different kinds of snacks for the children. Most of the people who come in live just a few houses away in Silora. We talk about the weather or local news while I pack their items in bags. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home and they realize they need something for dinner. I don't have a computer or any high-tech systems, I just write things down in a notebook when I need to remember what to order next. The shelves are mostly wooden and I’ve painted them a few times over the years. Pinari Chowk is a busy spot, so there is always something to look at out the front door. Sometimes I sit on a plastic chair outside when there are no customers. It’s a quiet life mostly. I try to keep the prices fair because I know everyone in the neighborhood. It's just a regular general store where you can get your daily needs without having to go all the way into the main Kishangarh market. I've been here long enough that even the stray dogs know where the shop is.
