Mahavir Provision Store

We are located right where Nala Bazar meets Laxmi Chowk and Karakka Chowk, so it’s a bit of a crossroads. Mahavir Provision Store sits in a spot where you can see everyone passing by from every direction. The area is always crowded, and the noise of horns is something you just stop hearing after a while. The shop itself is quite old, and the wooden shelves have a bit of a sag in the middle from holding heavy jars. I’ve put some bricks under the bottom shelf to keep it steady. The floor tiles are cracked in a few places, and I have to be careful not to trip when I’m carrying heavy crates. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to stack things high, which makes it feel a bit like a cave inside. In the monsoon, the water sometimes pools near the entrance because the road outside isn't very level. I spend a lot of time just rearranging things so people can actually walk through the middle of the store. It’s not a fancy setup, and we don't have any big signs or bright displays. Most people know we are here just by seeing the familiar pile of sacks out front. It’s a busy life, and by the time I close the shutters at night, my back usually aches a bit, but that’s just part of running a shop here.
