S. R. Marbles

Kishangarh is a busy place for marble, and we are right in the middle of it on Paryavaran Marg in the Riico Industrial Estate. If you’ve ever been here, you know how much white dust is in the air. That’s just life in Madanganj. We’ve been operating S. R. Marbles for a while now. It’s not a glamorous job. You spend a lot of time checking the slabs for cracks or weird spots. Every block is different, so you never really know what you’re going to get until you cut into it. That’s the part I find interesting, even after all these years. We get customers from all over who are looking for marble for their homes. I just walk around the yard with them and show them what we have in the stacks. My clothes are always dirty by the end of the day, but that’s fine. It’s better than being stuck in an office. We have a few guys helping with the loading and the cutting. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the stone. There’s no need for fancy talk when the marble speaks for itself. It’s a local business and we treat it that way. We just work hard and hope for a good day’s work every day. Sometimes the crane breaks down and it’s a real mess, but we just fix it and keep going. We've seen a lot of changes in the estate.
