Maa Vishnu General Store

Maa Vishnu General Store sits right at Bhagwanganj Chouraha on Ajay Nagar Road. If you know the area, you know how hectic that intersection can get. There is always a lot of dust from the construction and the buses passing by. My father started this place, and I’ve been helping out since I was a teenager. We have bags of grains stacked up near the entrance. Sometimes it’s hard to find space for new stock because the room is so small. We sell things like cooking oil, sugar, and those little packets of spices that everyone uses. The fans hum all day long to fight the heat. It gets really crowded in the evenings when people are heading home from work. They want to grab a few things quickly so they can get home to their families. We don’t have a computer system or anything like that. I just write things down in a ledger when I need to remember a debt or a big order. The floor is a bit uneven and the paint on the walls is peeling in some corners, but it doesn't bother anyone. We just focus on making sure the sugar isn't damp and the biscuits are crunchy. It’s a decent living. Being at the chouraha means we see everything that happens in Ajay Nagar. It’s a good spot even if it’s loud. We are just regular people trying to keep the pantry items stocked for the neighborhood.
