Lucky General Store

Lucky General Store is tucked away in the Pasand Nagar area of Pahadganj. It’s a small shop, maybe smaller than some people’s living rooms. We’ve been operating here for years, serving the families who live in the narrow lanes around us. I usually sit on a small stool behind the wooden counter. There’s a cat that hangs around the entrance sometimes, hoping for a bit of milk. We sell the usual things like flour, oil, spices, and cleaning supplies. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff faster than we expect, and then we have to wait for the next delivery. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to move everything out to do it. It’s a bit messy with boxes lying around, especially on Mondays. People from the neighborhood come by not just to buy things, but also to wait for the bus or get out of the rain. We have an old radio that plays local stations all day long. It provides a bit of background noise while we weigh out lentils or count change. We don’t have a website or a phone number listed anywhere fancy. If you live in Pahadganj, you just know where we are. It’s a humble place, just a regular shop trying to make ends meet and help out the local folks with whatever they need for their homes.
