Laxmi Sweets

Down here on Sai Baba Road in Ajay Nagar, things are usually a bit more relaxed than the main city center. Our shop, Laxmi Sweets, is just a plain place where we make the usual things people like to eat. We spend most of our mornings in the kitchen area. There is always a lot of cleaning and prepping to do before the first customer walks in. We make our sweets in small lots so they don't sit around for too long. Sometimes we try a different kind of snack if we feel like it, but mostly we stick to what people ask for. The residents of Ajay Nagar are our main customers, and they often stop by just to say hello while they pick up their daily needs. We don't have a big marketing plan or a polished look. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re more worried about the taste of the barfi. When it rains, the shop gets a bit damp, but we just keep the snacks covered up. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see one of us eating lunch in the corner while the other works the counter. We don’t mind the long hours because this is what we know how to do. It’s just about serving the people on Sai Baba Road every day and keeping the business going as best as we can.
