Lansara General Store

Lansara General Store is tucked away near the Bus Stand on Merta Road in Govindgarh. If you’re passing through Gandhi Nagar or the Madanganj area, you might have noticed our little spot. It’s a busy intersection with a lot of dust from the road, but we’ve gotten used to that over the years. We keep the doors open for anyone who needs a few things, whether they are locals or just people waiting for the next bus to take them further down Merta Road. The shop itself is pretty basic. We don’t have fancy displays or glass cases. Instead, we have stacks of boxes and wooden shelves filled with whatever people around here ask for the most. Sometimes it’s hard to find things if you aren't used to how we organize, but we know where every single packet and bottle is kept. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you usually see one of us sitting behind the counter reading the paper or just chatting with a neighbor who stopped by. The Govindgarh area can get quite hot in the summer, so the shade inside the store is a nice break for people walking to the bus stand. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but the bus stand stays the same kind of chaotic. We just keep stocking the shelves and waiting for the next person to walk in. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’re happy to be part of the community here in Madanganj.
