Kamal Sweet Mart

Kamal Sweet Mart has been sitting right here by Kamani Gate in Nala Bazar for quite a while now. It started small and mostly stayed that way because we like keeping things manageable. Every morning starts about the same. The shutters go up, the floors get swept, and the milk arrives in big cans. We spend most of the day near the stoves. It gets pretty hot back there, especially in the summer months when the sun hits the front of the shop. People come in from Nala Bazar for all sorts of reasons. Some just want a quick bite while they’re out doing their shopping, others are looking for something to take home for dinner. We don't really do anything fancy here. We just make the usual items that people around here expect to find. Sometimes the shop gets crowded, especially during the festival season, and things get a bit chaotic. We try to keep up with everyone, but it’s just us working. There isn’t a big team or anything. You might see some dust on the shelves if it’s been a windy day, but we try our best to keep things tidy. We've known some of our customers since they were kids, and now they bring their own children in. It’s just how things go in this part of town. We’re just a regular spot on the corner, doing what we’ve always done every single day.
