If you’ve ever been to Madanganj Kishangarh, you know it’s basically the marble and granite capital. Our place, Jjm Granites Private Limited, is at Plot No. 47 in Manmohan Nagar, right on Ramner Road. It is a busy spot. There is always a truck idling nearby or someone shouting over the sound of a crane. We’ve been here long enough that the Ajmer dust feels like home. The office is right there on the plot, nothing too special, just enough space to sit down and figure out the logistics for the next shipment. Kishangarh is a competitive place, every other gate is a stone yard, so we just try to do our own thing. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers, trying to figure out why they are stuck or when the next load will arrive. The heat in Rajasthan is no joke, especially in an open yard like ours, but we have a good group of guys who have been with us for years. They know the stone better than anyone. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the slabs, and the daily grind of moving heavy material from one place to another. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit around and wait for it to come back so the machines can start again. It’s just how things go for us.
