Skas Export

If you are ever near Subhash Nagar, you might notice Skas Export right across from the Narishala Gate. It is a simple building and doesn’t really stand out much from the others on the street. We spend most of our daylight hours inside, dealing with the daily grind of exports. It gets a bit dusty because of the traffic outside, so we are always wiping down the desks. My office chair has a squeak that won't go away, but I’ve just learned to live with it. We mostly focus on getting the crates packed and ready for the drivers. There is always something that needs doing, whether it is answering a phone that won't stop ringing or double-checking a manifest. Subhash Nagar stays pretty busy, so there is a lot of life right outside our front door. We have been in this same spot for a few years now. It is a small team here, just a handful of us who know the routine. We drink a lot of tea while we work to keep our energy up. The Narishala Gate is a good landmark because people often miss our turnoff. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. It’s just a practical workplace where we get the job done. Sometimes the internet is slow and we can't send our emails, which is annoying, but we just wait it out. It’s just a regular job for us, nothing too fancy.
