It is pretty dusty around here at Plot No. B-31 in Vaishali Nagar, but that’s just how it goes when you’re moving stone all day. We’ve been at this spot near the Reliance Fresh for a good while now. Most people find us because they’re already out doing their grocery shopping and happen to see the slabs leaning against the walls. My father started things out, and now I’m the one handling the phone calls and the loading. We keep a decent stock of marble mostly because that’s what folks around here want for their floors. It isn’t a fancy showroom or anything like that. Just a yard with some stacks of stone and a small office where we keep the paperwork. Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice a day, sometimes just once if he's busy. If you walk in, you’ll probably see me or one of the guys covered in a bit of white powder from the cutting. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most of our work comes from neighbors telling other neighbors where to get their stone. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a break around then. If you come by then, you might have to wait a minute while we get up. We try to keep things simple and just sell what we have on the lot. It is a lot of heavy lifting, but it keeps us busy enough to keep the lights on.
