Harsh Granite

We are set up out on the Jaipur Highway Bypass, right near Palra. Being on Ajmer Road means there is a lot of traffic passing by, mostly big trucks and people traveling through to other places. Our yard is where we keep all the granite. It’s a big open space because granite takes up a lot of room and we need to be able to move the slabs around. We spend our days outside mostly, dealing with the heat and the dust that comes with the territory. Moving these slabs isn't easy, and you have to be careful not to chip anything or hurt yourself. We have some guys who have been doing this for years, and they know how to handle the heavy stuff. People pull off the highway to see what we have, and we show them around the piles of stone. It isn't a fancy showroom, just the materials sitting there ready to go. The wind blows pretty hard across the bypass sometimes, which makes the work a bit harder because it kicks up the dust. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for the customers. Sometimes we are waiting on a delivery truck and things get a bit slow, but usually, there is plenty of work to keep us occupied. We’ve become a part of the landscape here near Palra over the years. It’s just us and the heavy stone out by the road, trying to keep things organized day after day.
