Gupta Saree Emporium

Gupta Saree Emporium is located at 17/166 on the Purani Mandi stretch of Jaipur Road. It’s an old building, and we've been in this specific spot for quite some years. The walls are lined with boxes of sarees from floor to ceiling. You have to use a ladder to get to the top ones. It’s just how we’ve always done it. The road outside is always full of motorcycles and rickshaws. It gets quite loud during the day. We are a small family-run place. Usually, one of us is sitting at the front while the others are helping customers in the back. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name above the door. People know where we are. We get a lot of people coming in for wedding clothes because Purani Mandi is a popular place for that. The floor is a bit worn down from all the foot traffic over the years. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just sell sarees. Sometimes we sit out front on the bench when it’s quiet and watch the people go by on Jaipur Road. It's a simple life. We close up when the sun goes down and do it all again the next morning. It’s what we know. The neighbors often drop in for a quick chat and some tea, which makes the long days go by faster.
