Gangaram Amearchand Halwai

Gangaram Amearchand Halwai is located in the Madar Gate New market area. It’s a crowded part of town where the streets are always full of shoppers. We have been running this shop for many years. It was started by the family and we just kept it going. The market is loud and there is always something happening outside our door. We spend most of our time near the big cooking pots. It gets very hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer months. Gangaram Amearchand Halwai isn't a place with fancy furniture or decorations. We have plain walls and some old shelves for our containers. We don't use any complicated machines to make our food. Most of it is done by hand, the same way it was done a long time ago. The address at Madar Gate New market is easy to find if you are walking through the main bazaar. We see a lot of regular customers who live nearby. They stop in for a bit and then move on with their shopping. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just open the shop, do the cooking, and sell what we have. By the time evening comes, we are usually quite tired. We close the shutters, clean up the mess, and head home. It’s a long day but it’s our routine. We don't have any big plans to change things.
