Our operations are based at Khasara No. 676/5 and 674/9, which is situated near the Power House in the Ralawata and Silora area. It’s a bit of a rugged spot, but that’s where you need to be if you’re in the stone export business. We deal with a lot of raw and processed stone here. The yard is vast and filled with blocks of all sizes. Being near the Power House is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. The dust is just part of the daily life here, and we all have our boots and gear ready. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the stone before it gets loaded onto the trucks. It’s a long process from the quarry to the final export container. We have a small office on the site where we handle the billing and the export documents. It’s often loud because of the cutting machines nearby, but we’ve learned to talk over the noise. We don’t have any fancy showrooms or anything like that. People come here to see the actual material in the yard. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We’ve been working in this area for quite some time and we know the local stone market inside and out. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is out, but we just keep at it and make sure our orders are filled. We usually wrap up as the sun goes down.
