Deepak General Store

Deepak General Store is our family-run business located in the heart of Ajay Nagar. We have been serving the local community here for many years. It’s a very simple setup with wooden shelves and a small counter where I sit most of the day. We sell all the basic household necessities like detergents, spices, pulses, and snacks. The shop is tucked away a bit, so we don't get a lot of random tourists, just the people who live in the surrounding houses. I usually start the day by organizing the milk crates that are dropped off early in the morning. The walls of the shop could use a fresh coat of paint, but I haven't found the time to do it yet. I use a manual scale for weighing out things like sugar and flour, which some people think is old-fashioned, but it works perfectly fine for me. There’s a small ceiling fan that wobbles a bit when it's on high speed, but it’s the only thing keeping the place cool in the summer heat. I enjoy the routine of opening up, chatting with the regulars, and hearing the local news. My kids sometimes come by after school to help me restock the candy jars or sweep the floor. We don't have any big signs or fancy displays. People know where we are and what we have in stock. It’s a modest way to make a living, and I’m happy enough with how things go day to day.
