Bombay Sweet Center

Bombay Sweet Center is located right in the thick of Nala Bazar. It’s one of those places where the street is always narrow and full of people walking or riding bikes. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. The routine doesn't change much from Monday to Sunday. We get the shipments of sugar and milk, and then the work starts. It’s a lot of stirring and waiting for things to cool down. The shop itself has a basic layout with the display cases right at the front so people passing by can see what’s ready. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because that's not what we are about. It’s about the work we do with our hands every morning. Sometimes the heat from the big stoves makes the whole place warm, even with the fans going. Nala Bazar is a loud place, with vendors shouting and bells ringing, but we just focus on the trays in front of us. We have some regular customers who have been coming here since they were kids. Now they bring their own children to get a little something. It’s nice to see that kind of continuity over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city; we just want to do our job well in our little corner of the market. When the sun goes down, we clean up the counters and get ready to do it all again.
