B R C Marbles

This place is out in the Kishangarh Industrial Area in Madanganj. It’s a very dusty part of town because of all the stone cutting going on in every direction. We’ve got stacks of marble slabs all over the yard. Some are white, some have dark veins, and others are just plain grey stone. We spend most of our mornings moving things around with the old crane we have. It’s heavy work and my boots are always covered in that fine white powder. Folks come here looking for flooring or stuff for their new kitchens. We don’t have a showroom with air conditioning or a fancy reception desk. You just walk around the yard with us and point at the blocks you like. We tell you the price and how many square feet we have left of that particular batch. Madanganj is famous for this marble stuff, so there are shops everywhere, but we just stay in our corner and mind our own business. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we have to wait around drinking chai and talking about the weather. It’s not a fast job by any means. Cutting and polishing takes a lot of time and you can’t rush the machines without breaking something. We’ve been here long enough that we know which blocks are good and which ones might have hidden cracks inside. It’s just how it is when you work with natural stone. We keep the gates open until sunset.
