Avinash General Store

Avinash General Store is located right at the Silora Bus Stand in Thantoti Sarwar. Being near a bus stand means there is always someone coming or going. People are usually in a hurry to catch their ride, so they just pop in for a quick snack or a packet of tobacco. It gets very busy when the buses from Sarwar arrive. The dust from the buses is something we just deal with every day. I keep a cloth handy to wipe down the glass jars on the counter. The shop is small and has been here for years. I know the bus schedules by heart now. You don't need a watch when you work at Silora Bus Stand. We stock a bit of everything because you never know what a traveler might need. Soap, matches, notebooks, and lots of packaged food. The space behind the counter is a bit tight, especially when the stock arrives. Thantoti is a small place, so word of mouth is how people know about us. We don't have any big signs or posters. Just the name Avinash General Store on a board outside. I think people appreciate having a reliable place to get their things while waiting for the bus. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting, then sudden rushes of people. That is just the life of a shopkeeper here in Sarwar. It is a nice feeling to be part of the Silora Bus Stand landscape. We don't have much to say, we just work.
