Ashu General Store

We've been at Ashu General Store on Dhola Bhatta for a good while now. It sits right where Dholabhata Road meets Dhannadi Road, so it gets quite a bit of traffic throughout the day. Mostly, it is just us keeping things organized as much as we can. You know how it is, boxes piled up and trying to find space for new stock that comes in every Tuesday. People stop by on their way home for bread or maybe some pulses they forgot to buy earlier. The fan makes a bit of noise in the corner but it keeps things cool enough. It's not a big fancy place with glass doors or anything like that. We just have what people need for their kitchens and homes. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in for a single packet of biscuits and we chat for a bit. The road outside stays busy, and the dust usually finds its way inside no matter how much we sweep. It's a simple life here. We open early when the sun is barely up because that's when the milk arrives. Most of the regulars know exactly where everything is kept, sometimes better than I do. We just keep the lights on and wait for the next person to walk through the door. It isn't much, but it's our daily routine here at the shop on the corner. We even have some old wooden stools for people to sit on if they are waiting for someone. It’s just us doing what we can day after day.
