Architect Mukesh Sharma

My name is Mukesh Sharma and I run my architecture office here on Shari Nagar Road. It’s a pretty central spot in Ajmer, especially being so near to the Jawahar Rang Manch. You can usually hear some activity coming from that direction during the festival seasons. The office is where I spend most of my daylight hours. I do a lot of the drafting and planning myself, sometimes with a bit of help when the workload gets too heavy. It’s not a corporate environment at all; it’s just a place where I can focus on the lines and the measurements. People come in with an idea of what they want their house to look like, and I try to put that onto paper in a way that makes sense for the builders. There’s a lot of back and forth, changing things here and there until it’s just right. I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I’ve seen a lot of different styles come and go in Ajmer. My desk is usually covered in pens, scales, and blueprints. It’s honest work and it keeps me connected to the city. I don’t use any big words to describe what I do. I just draw the plans that help people build their homes. If you pass by Shari Nagar Road, you’ll see the office sign. It’s just a regular place for a regular guy doing his job.
