Ankit Marble

If you go down to the Kishangarh Old Industrial Area, you’ll see plenty of dust and big trucks moving around all the time. Our place, Ankit Marble, is right in the middle of all that noise and activity. It’s mostly a big yard where we keep the slabs of marble stacked up against each other. Some of the pieces are really heavy, so we have to use the machines to move them around so nobody gets hurt. Working here means your clothes are always covered in a thin layer of white dust by the time lunch rolls around. The sun beats down on the yard, making the stones feel warm to the touch. We spend a lot of time just moving things from one side to the other or loading up a trailer that’s headed out to a construction site. There isn't anything fancy about the office, just a small room with a desk and some chairs where we can sit and have tea when there’s a break. The road outside is usually full of potholes because of all the heavy machinery going back and forth every day. It’s a loud place to work, but you get used to the sound of the cutters and the engines after a while. We don’t do much else besides handling the marble and making sure the counts are right before the trucks leave. It’s just a regular part of the industrial area life where the days are long but simple.
