We are situated in the Jangid Pali Bazaar in Beawar, which is a very busy part of the Ajmer district. The bazaar is always full of noise, with motorbikes honking and shopkeepers calling out to people. Our clinic is right in the middle of all that activity. It is a bit of a contrast when you step inside because it is much quieter, though you can still hear the muffled sounds of the street. The building is an older style, typical for this part of Beawar. We have a section for general checkups and then the dental area with the big chair and all the tools. Everything is kept as tidy as possible, but it is a working clinic, so there are always papers and supplies around. The waiting area is just a few benches against the wall. We do not have a fancy TV or magazines; people usually just sit and talk to each other while they wait. The light comes in from the front door and the small windows near the ceiling. It can get quite warm in the afternoons, so we have a few ceiling fans going at full speed. We see a lot of people who travel in from the smaller villages around Ajmer. It is a practical, no-nonsense place that has been serving the bazaar community for quite some time now. We just open up the shutters every morning and see who needs help today.
