Shivaji-Park is a decent place to be based in Alwar. Our office at H.N-4K239 is really just part of the house. It belongs to Ajit Sharma, and we’ve set up a couple of rooms for the cement business. We don't have a big sign or any fancy lights outside. You just walk in through the main gate. The neighborhood is full of families, so it’s usually pretty quiet during the day when the kids are at school. We spend our time answering calls from contractors and writing out delivery slips. The Rajasthan summer is no joke, so the cooler is always running and making a lot of noise. We have a lot of old maps pinned to the walls to help us figure out where the new construction sites are. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit disorganized, but we usually find what we need eventually. We don't have a corporate vibe at all. We just sit around in our casual clothes and get through the day's tasks. Most of our clients are local builders who have been buying from us for years. They stop by for a chat and a glass of water more often than for actual business. It’s a friendly way to do things and it suits the Alwar lifestyle. We keep a box of biscuits on the desk for anyone who drops in for a long talk. We usually close up early on Saturdays if there isn't too much pending work.
