Ambica General Store

We are situated on the Main Road right by Station Road, which means we see a lot of people every day. Being near the station, we get everyone from locals to travelers who are just passing through. Our store is packed with all kinds of general items. We have stationery, batteries, small electronics, toiletries, and plenty of snacks. Because we are on a main road, it’s always loud outside with the sound of horns and engines. We keep the doors wide open most of the time to let people see what we have. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so we keep a sturdy plastic stool nearby to reach the top items. It’s a bit of a jumble sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. We spend a lot of the day just ringing up small sales—a pen here, a packet of biscuits there. The counter is old and has some scratches on it from years of coins and bags being slid across. We don't have any fancy displays or bright neon lights. We just use the standard tube lights that hum a little bit if you listen closely. In the evenings, it gets really busy when people are heading home from work and realize they need something for the house. We just keep our heads down, serve the people in line, and make sure we don't run out of the basics.
