Abdul General Store

You can find Abdul General Store tucked away in the Khailand Market over on Khan Pura Road. It is a small space but we try to cram as much as we possibly can onto the metal shelves. Everything from soap to snacks is squeezed in there. It gets a bit tight when more than two people are inside at once, but that is just how it goes in the market. We have been here for many years, watching the street outside change slowly. The Khan Pura Road is always moving with people walking to and from their daily work. Our counter is made of old wood and has deep scratches all over it from years of sliding change across the surface. There is no air conditioning, just a small ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise while it spins. We keep the inventory mostly in our heads because the paperwork usually ends up in a messy pile. People stop by for small things on their way home in the evening. We know most of the families who live in the nearby streets. It is a busy life, opening up early and staying until the market starts to quiet down late at night. We do not have fancy displays or bright neon signs. Just the name Abdul General Store painted above the door. It is a bit faded now from the sun, but everyone in the area knows where we are. It's just a regular shop for everyday things.
