Hrangbana College

Hrangbana College is located up in Chandmary, here in Aizawl. If you are familiar with Mizoram, you know the roads can be a bit steep and the weather changes whenever it feels like it. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. It is a place where students from all over the hills come to get their degrees. You can see them walking up the road in groups, usually chatting about their exams or what they are doing for the weekend. The college building itself has seen a lot of seasons. It isn’t some modern corporate office; it feels like a place where people actually spend their time. We have classrooms that get plenty of natural light, which is nice when the sun is out. The administrative staff sits in the main office area, dealing with paperwork and registers all day long. It gets quite busy during admission time, with lots of families coming in from different districts. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everyone gets their forms sorted out. The atmosphere is generally quiet during lecture hours, except for the occasional sound of a car passing by outside in Chandmary. It’s a straightforward institution. We don’t have any big slogans on the walls. It is just about the students showing up, attending their classes, and eventually finishing their studies so they can move on to whatever is next for them.
