Being on Station Road in Ahmednagar means things are always moving around us. Sarswati Vidya Mandir Primary School Ambah is tucked away right at 46/2. It’s a busy spot. You’ve got the trains not too far off and the local shops right there. Our primary school is full of younger kids who are just starting out. They come in with their heavy bags every morning. The building isn't huge, but we make it work for everyone. Since we are a primary school, there’s always a bit of chaos with the little ones running around. We’ve got desks that have been used by many siblings over the years. Some of the parents went here themselves when they were small. It’s that kind of place. We don’t go for anything too flashy. The focus is just on the basics of reading and writing. Ahmednagar gets quite dusty, so we are always sweeping the front steps. You can find us easily if you follow the road down from the station. We’ve got a few trees in the courtyard that give a bit of shade when the sun is out. It’s a noisy, happy place most of the time. Sometimes the fans in the classrooms make a clicking sound, but nobody really minds. We are just a local school trying to help the kids in this part of town get a start. It is a simple life for us here on the road.
