Rangna Masale

Our shop is right there in Gunjalwadi, Shop No-47/1. It's quite close to the Nashik Pune Highway, so we see a lot of traffic. Rangna Masale is mostly about the spices we handle every day. The air in the shop always smells like turmeric and chili. Some days the dust from the grinding makes everyone sneeze, but you get used to it after a while. My brother and I run the place together. We don’t have a lot of staff, maybe just one or two neighbors who help when things get really busy during the festival seasons. The District Ahmed Nagar area gets really hot in the summer, which makes the work a bit tiring. We have a small fan that we keep running, but it doesn't do much. People from the nearby villages stop by when they’re headed toward the highway. We just weigh the stuff out, wrap it up, and that’s that. We don't spend money on fancy labels or anything like that. We just use what works. The building isn't brand new, it has some cracks in the walls, but it stays dry. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because of the traffic on the main road. We just sit on the bench outside and wait. It’s a slow pace of life here mostly. We just keep doing what we do.
