Dhara Foods. We are right opposite the National Research Centre in Tili Khunja. To get here, you have to turn into Chinti Gali. It’s a narrow lane and sometimes the trucks get stuck if someone parks a bike in the wrong spot. This part of Ahmednagar, near Kedgaon and the Nagar Pune Road, stays very dusty. Our building is nothing special to look at. We do a lot of food packaging and sorting. The fans run all day long because it gets so hot in this district. You can hear the traffic from the main road even inside the warehouse. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, to beat the heat. There’s a tea stall at the corner of Chinti Gali where we get our morning snacks. The work is mostly manual, checking bags and making sure everything is sealed. We have a small office with a wooden desk that’s seen better days. It is a bit crowded inside with all the crates. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just come by or call the old landline. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside in the shade for a bit. It’s a practical place for practical work. The neighbors are mostly other small workshops. We’ve been at this address for several years now and it feels like home. It’s just a busy life on the Ahmednagar road.
