Vishal Mega Mart

Vishal Mega Mart is right here at King Square, just a short walk from the Jalaram Mandir in Paldi. It’s a pretty lively spot to work, mostly because the temple brings in so many people every single day. You can always hear the bells ringing in the morning while we are opening up the doors and getting the aisles ready. The floor is usually covered in boxes when the delivery trucks arrive, and we spend hours just unboxing stuff and trying to find a place for everything on the shelves. It’s a big space, and sometimes it feels like we are constantly walking back and forth from one end to the other. On weekends, it gets really crowded and the noise level goes way up with families coming in to do their shopping. We don’t have much time for sitting down once the doors open. Our staff is mostly locals who know the Paldi area well, so we end up chatting with neighbors while we work. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a blessing in the Ahmedabad heat, though it can get a bit stuffy near the back storeroom. We just try to keep things organized so people can find what they need without having to ask us every five minutes. It’s just a regular store, busy and a bit messy at times, but it’s our daily life here at King Square. We just try to stay on our feet and keep the shelves full.
