Anokhee is basically run out of Prabhu Kutir in the Vastrapur area. It’s more of a quiet spot compared to the big malls nearby, which suits us just fine. We started this because we liked working with our hands and seeing what we could make. The room where we keep the stock is always a bit of a mess with scraps and measuring tapes lying around. We don't really have a set schedule, but someone is usually here from morning until late evening. Vastrapur is a nice place to be, and our neighbors are used to seeing people coming and going from the house. Sometimes we sit on the porch to take a break when the sun is too much. The walls are covered in sketches and fabric samples that we’ve collected over the months. We don't spend money on fancy marketing or big signs. People usually find us because a friend told them where to go. It’s just a simple setup with a few tables and a couple of good sewing machines. We try to keep things practical. If a thread is loose, we fix it right then. It is not a corporate office, just a place where we put in the hours and hope people like the stuff we put out. Some days are slow and others are a bit chaotic with orders, but we manage to get through it all by just staying focused on the tasks.
