You can find Talent India over at 1601, Karnavati Estate, in the Phase-III section of G.I.D.C., Vatva. Working in an industrial estate like this means dealing with a lot of dust and the sound of trucks rumbling past the window all day long. Our office is tucked into one of the large blocks here, and it is a pretty functional space. We have got some basic desks, a few filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a lot of coffee mugs scattered around. Since we are in Vatva, the environment is very industrial and no-nonsense. We spend our time going through applications and talking to people who are looking for a start in the factories nearby. It is a lot of coordination and keeping track of names and numbers. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually keep the blinds pulled down to stay cool. It is not the kind of place where you come for the view, but it is right in the heart of the action for this part of Ahmedabad. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is not too bad, even when the G.I.D.C. roads get crowded. We just keep our heads down and try to stay on top of the pile of work that never seems to get any smaller. It is a steady rhythm that we have all gotten used to over the years.
