Sunrise Packaging Service

Our shop is at Plot No. 1718 in Phase III of the G.I.D.C. Estate in Vatva. We call the business Sunrise Packaging Service, mostly because we used to start so early in the morning that the sun was just coming up when we opened the heavy shutters. Vatva is a massive place and it’s very easy to get lost if you don't know the turns, but we’ve been in this same plot for a long time. We handle all kinds of packaging services for the various factories that are located nearby. It’s mostly cardboard boxes, plastic wrap, and that thick strapping stuff. We have a few machines that help us out, but a lot of the work is still done by hand. The tea guy comes by twice a day on his bicycle and that’s usually when we all take a breather. It’s certainly not a glamorous job. Your hands get very dry from all the cardboard and the tape, and there’s always some scrap to sweep up at the end of the day. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they saw our painted sign while driving past. The rainy season can be a bit tough because we have to make sure every single box stays dry inside the shed. We just keep working and doing our thing until it is time to go home.
