Sharda Medical

Sharda Medical is situated right by Sanjeevani Hospital, so things here can get very hectic throughout the day. Because of our location, we see many people coming directly from their doctor appointments or the hospital ward. It is not a very large shop, but we have to keep a huge amount of stock because you never know what a patient might be looking for. We spend the majority of our time reading through prescriptions and trying to find the exact strips of medicine. Sometimes we have to spend time explaining that we have a different brand name but it has the same ingredients as what is written down. It involves a lot of standing around all day long. There is not much space for a chair behind the main counter. We don't have any time for fancy decorations or marketing. The walls are basically just covered in shelves from the floor all the way to the ceiling. It stays quite warm inside the shop because the fridge for the injections runs constantly. My brother and I take turns working shifts so that the shop can stay open for long hours. We get new deliveries arriving several times a day because we go through our stock very quickly. It is often noisy with the sounds of the hospital right next door, but we have gotten used to the constant hustle and bustle. People are usually in a hurry when they come here, so we try to work as fast as we can.
