It’s a very specific part of Ahmedabad that has a lot of history. The fire station is a great landmark for anyone trying to find us for the first time. The building itself is dedicated mostly to bone and joint issues, so you see a lot of people with crutches or in wheelchairs in the hallways. It’s a specialized place, and the atmosphere reflects that. We have a research side too, which means there are often people tucked away in labs or offices looking at data. The clinical side is much more active. The rooms are basic but functional, with a lot of heavy-duty beds and equipment for moving patients. We have a small courtyard area where some people sit when the weather isn’t too hot. The staff here has a lot of experience with specific types of injuries. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on the physical side of things. The morning starts with a lot of filing and getting the exam rooms ready. Navrangpura is a busy area, so there’s always noise coming from the street, but once the heavy doors are shut, it gets much quieter. We just do our work, day in and day out, in this corner of the city near the fire station. There’s a small shop nearby where we buy our pens and notebooks.
