Ruchi's Creation

Our place, Ruchi's Creation, is at A-10 in the Safal-3 building over in Sarangpur. It’s right across from the New Cloth Market, which means it’s always hectic outside. Trucks are always loading and unloading, and there’s always someone shouting about a delivery. Inside our unit, things are a bit more controlled, but not by much. We have rows of shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. Most of the time, we’re using a ladder to reach something for a customer. It’s a lot of manual work, carrying rolls of cloth and keeping track of what’s in stock. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come in, you’ll probably see us at the big wooden table in the back. That’s where we do all the cutting and measuring. The floor is usually covered in bits of lint and dust from the market outside. We try to sweep it every evening before we lock up. Sarangpur is a tough place to work sometimes because of the heat and the crowds, but it’s where all the action is. We’ve been in Safal-3 for a while now and we know the security guards and the other shop owners pretty well. It’s just a regular business day for us, nothing glamorous. We just make sure the work gets done and the shop stays open until the market clears out.
