The Avakasa Multi Designer Fashion House is tucked away in Bodakdev, over at 18 Samkeet Bunglows. If you’re familiar with the area near TGB or Atithi Restaurant, we are in the lane right behind them on Atithi Dining Road. It is more of a quiet, residential-feeling spot than a big shopping mall, which suits us just fine. Inside, we have various designer pieces laid out. It is not a huge, cold showroom; it feels more like a house because, well, it is one. We spend our days looking at fabrics, talking to designers, and helping people find something that actually fits them right. It’s a lot of manual work, checking stitches and making sure the racks are tidy. Sometimes the shop gets a bit messy when we’re unpacking new arrivals, but we try to keep on top of it. We don't really do the high-pressure sales stuff you see in big stores. If someone comes in, they can look around, and if they need help, we are there to talk. It’s mostly local people from around Bodakdev who stop by, or folks who have heard about us through word of mouth. We deal with all sorts of styles and designers, trying to have a good mix on the hangers. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure the place stays open and the clothes look decent for whoever walks through the door next. It's just about the clothes and the people who wear them.
