Phoenix Institute

Phoenix Institute is located at 8 Sai Krupa Bunglows in Kalol. It’s a residential-feeling area, which makes for a pretty calm place to study and work. We have been here in Gujarat for a while now, focusing on teaching the students who come through our doors. It’s not a massive university campus. It’s more of a personal space where we can actually talk to the people we are helping. We have a few rooms set up for classes and some desk space for the staff. It’s a small operation, really. We spend our days preparing materials and sitting down with students to go over their lessons. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just what’s necessary to get the teaching done right. Most of us live nearby, so we know the community well. The 382721 zip code is home to us. Sometimes the weather gets hot and we have the fans going full blast while we work. It’s a practical environment. We don't put on airs or try to act like we’re more than we are. We’re just local people helping other local people learn new things. It’s rewarding to see someone finally understand a tough concept. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily schedule. It’s a good way to spend the day, and it keeps us busy. We try to make sure everyone who leaves here has learned something useful for their future.
