Petrix Kennels

You’ll find us at 32-B on Lawley Road in R.S. Puram. It’s a house that we’ve turned into a space for the dogs. Because it’s a kennel, it’s rarely quiet during the day. There is always someone barking or a dog wanting to go out for a walk in the yard. R.S. Puram is a busy area, but our street is a little bit tucked away from the main noise. We spend the whole day cleaning floors, washing bowls, and making sure the dogs are fed and happy. It’s a lot of physical work. We don't have a front desk or a waiting room. You just come to the gate and someone will come out to meet you, probably covered in some dog hair. We don't use fancy chemicals, just soap and water to keep things clean and safe for the animals. The dogs don't care about how the place looks, they just want to be comfortable and fed on time. We have a small yard where they can run around. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we have a lot of boarders staying at once. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who actually like being around animals all day. It’s noisy and sometimes it smells like wet dog, but that’s just how it is. We don't try to make it look like a boutique. It’s just a practical place for dogs to stay when their owners have to be away.
