We are over at Plot No. 36 in the Kathwada GIDC, specifically in the Odhav Industrial Estate. It’s an interesting place for an art business because we are surrounded by factories making all kinds of heavy industrial parts. Being near the Grama Panchayath office in Odhav makes it easier for people to find us, but it’s still very much a factory area. Our space is usually a bit of a mess with paint, materials, and half-finished pieces scattered around. We don't really fit the image of a clean, quiet art studio. It’s noisy outside and sometimes noisy inside too. We spend our days trying to get the creative side of things to work within the constraints of an industrial park. It’s a lot of trial and error. Sometimes we are working late into the night when the rest of the estate is quiet. We don't have a fancy front desk or anyone to greet you with a smile; you just kind of walk in and find us working. The air is often thick with the smell of whatever materials we are using that day. We aren't trying to be high-brow or exclusive. We just make art in a place where most people are making gears or pipes. It’s a strange mix, but it works for us. We just keep creating and hope for the best.
