Nandini Boutique

Our small boutique is situated at 45 Shreyas Foundation Road. It is a quiet enough street, but it gets its fair share of people walking by throughout the day. We have been at this location for a while, and we’ve gotten to know the rhythms of the neighborhood. The front of the shop has some glass so people can see what we have on the racks, but inside it is mostly just us working. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be careful about where we put things. There are racks of clothes everywhere, and sometimes it feels a bit tight, but it’s a comfortable place to work. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the people who drop in to see what’s new. It is not a high-pressure environment at all. We just like clothes and we like being part of the local scene here. The light in the morning is really good, which helps when we are looking at colors and fabrics. We don't really have a big marketing plan or anything. We just open up the doors and see who comes by. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it’s slow, just watching the cars go by on Shreyas Foundation Road. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it suits us just fine. We keep the books manually and just try to stay on top of things every day. It works for us.
