Mehta Handicraft

Our place is Plot No. 23 in Adhikar Society, Part-2. It’s the D-Cabin area in Sabarmati, right near the bus stand. Mehta Handicraft is a small operation, mostly run by family and a couple of neighbors. We’ve been here for years, and the neighborhood has changed a lot, but our workshop stays pretty much the same. We make various handicrafts, mostly traditional stuff that we learned how to make a long time ago. It’s not a factory; it’s just a house that we’ve converted into a workspace. You’ll usually find us sitting on the floor or at low tables, working on whatever project is due next. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a big staff. If you drop by, you might find us having lunch or just taking a break from the heat. Being near the bus stand means it’s never really quiet, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. It’s a simple life. We make things by hand, we sell them, and we start again the next day. We don’t use much technology besides our phones to talk to customers. Sabarmati is our home, and we like that people know where to find us if they need something handmade. It’s not a big corporate thing, just a local business trying to do things the old-fashioned way. We just keep busy and hope for the best. That's about it really.
