Mahendra Agency is located at 34/2, Kabutar Khana, which is right in the heart of Chokha Bazar in Kalupur. If you know Kalupur, you know how incredibly crowded and noisy it can get, especially during the peak hours. Our shop is tucked into one of those narrow lanes where there is always something happening. The smell of the market is very strong here—a mix of spices and dust and everything else being sold nearby. We have been at this address for a long time, and the building has that old, sturdy feel to it. Inside, it is a bit cramped because we have to make the most of the space we have. There are boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling in some parts, and the counter is always covered in notebooks and pens. We start our day very early, often before the sun is even fully up, to beat the worst of the market rush. Most of our time is spent talking to customers and making sure the inventory is correct. It is a lot of standing on your feet and moving things around, so we are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We do not have air conditioning, just a few old fans that move the warm air around, but we do not mind it much. It is just part of being in Chokha Bazar, and we would not know how to work anywhere else.
