We’ve been set up here at B 69 in New Gajendra Society for a while now. It’s a quiet spot in Ajay Tenament, right in the Mahadevnagar area of Odhav in Ahmedabad. Most people around this side of town know how busy it can get, but our little corner stays pretty steady. We handle insurance stuff for folks who live nearby. It isn't a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. We have some basic desks, a lot of paper files, and a few ceiling fans that work overtime when the heat hits in May. Usually, the morning starts with opening the shutters and checking the mail. Our neighbors are mostly families who have lived in the society for years. People drop by mostly to ask about their papers or just to clear up some confusion about a claim they have. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing things out on the old computers. It can be noisy when the traffic picks up outside on the main road, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We don't really do big advertising. Most of the people who come in found out about us from someone else in the building. It’s just how things work here. We keep the tea kettle going for when someone stops in. It’s just us doing the daily work, making sure the records are straight and the policy details are right for whoever walks through the door today.
