Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute

We are located on Drive In Road, right across from Manav Mandir and near the Gurukul area. It is a part of Ahmedabad that has grown quite a bit over the years. Our building has been here for a long time, and it sits on a decent-sized piece of land. We focus on matters related to labor and work life, so we have a lot of files, books, and meeting rooms. The architecture is older, with wide corridors that stay relatively cool even when it is hot outside. We have a lot of people coming in for seminars or just to use the library resources. The garden out front is a bit overgrown in the corners, but we try to keep the main paths clear. It is a quiet place compared to the rush of the traffic on Drive In Road. Sometimes you can hear the bells from the temple across the street in the mornings. We have a canteen that serves basic snacks and tea, which is usually the heart of the place during the afternoons. It is not a high-tech facility, and some of the chairs in the lecture halls are a bit creaky, but they do the job. We have a small team here who looks after the day-to-day operations, from cleaning to keeping the records organized. It is a steady kind of place where things move at their own pace, and we are fine with that.
