Our place is right on the first floor of Aarthikbhavan on Gondal Road. Most people know the Bombay Garage petrol pump, so finding us isn’t usually a problem. It’s a busy part of Rajkot, so there is always a lot of noise coming up from the street, especially the horns and the bikes. We have been here at number 30 for a good while. The office itself is pretty simple, with desks shoved together and files stacked up in the corners. It is not the kind of place with big glass walls or anything like that. We just have what we need to keep things moving at Kotak Securities. Most mornings start with a quick cup of tea before the market gets going. It gets loud in here once the phones start ringing. We spend the day helping folks from around the neighborhood with their stock market stuff and making sure all the forms are filled out right. It can be a bit of a scramble sometimes when things are moving fast on the screens. We just try to keep things honest and straightforward for everyone who walks through the door. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs more than we’d like. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation where we handle the financial side of things without making a big fuss about it. We like being part of the Rajkot business crowd and seeing familiar faces every day.
