K. Mohanlal Creation

Our shop, K. Mohanlal Creation, is tucked away in Chokha Bazar at No. 88/ 2. It’s inside the Sindhi Commercial Market in the Kalupur area, which is probably one of the busiest places you could find. If you know Kalupur, you know how the crowds are. There is always someone shouting, bikes pushing through, and a lot of energy. We’ve been in this market for a long time. Our space is filled with all kinds of creations we’ve worked on. There isn't much room to move around once the new stock arrives. We spend our days showing fabrics to people and talking to the other shop owners nearby. It is a very social way to work. You can’t really be private in a place like Sindhi Commercial Market. The walls are thin and everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to sell our stuff and make enough to keep the lights on and the shop running for another year. Sometimes the heat in the market gets to be a lot, so we have a small fan that barely does the job. But that’s just part of being in Chokha Bazar. We keep things simple here. If someone likes what we’ve made, they buy it. That’s the way it has always been for us at K. Mohanlal Creation. We just do our best with what we have.
