Jyoti Hosital Visnagar

Being part of the staff here at the hospital in Visnagar is quite a busy life. We are located in the Salatwado area, right opposite the Bahuchar Mata temple. You can see the temple entrance from our front gates, and during festival times, the whole street gets blocked with people coming to pray. Our building is on Parabadi Ni Sheri, which is one of those narrow streets that can be a bit tricky for ambulances to get through quickly. It is not a massive city hospital with all the latest gadgets, but it serves the people here well. We spend our days checking in patients from the surrounding villages and making sure everyone gets seen by the doctor. The waiting room is usually full of families sitting and talking quietly. It smells like medicine and cleaning supplies most of the time. We work in shifts, and the night shifts can be very long when it is just the sound of the fans and the occasional person walking down the hall. We have been here in Visnagar for many years, and almost everyone in Salatwado knows where we are. It is a practical place where we focus on getting people back on their feet. We don’t have much time for anything fancy. We just focus on the patients and the daily tasks of running a local medical facility in a small town where everyone knows each other. It’s hard work, but it feels good to help out our neighbors.
