It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details. The shop is full of jars and boxes. Some are plastic, some are glass, and they are all filled with different colors and sizes of buttons. It looks like a mess to anyone else, but we know exactly which box has what. Tailors from all over the neighborhood come by with their half-finished shirts and jackets. We have a few old machines that have been running for years. They make a specific clicking sound that I can hear in my sleep. The lighting has to be good, or you end up sewing the wrong color. It’s a quiet life mostly, except when the festival season starts and everyone is in a big hurry. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just a local house where we work. My hands are usually a bit tired by the evening, but that’s just how the job goes. We’ve been near the temple for a long time now. It is a nice place to be, and the neighbors are all very kind.
